I've been grabbing a lot of content from FHGs and just hotlinking the thumbs to save space. But now the sponsor changed the gallery links and half my images are broken. Is there a WP plugin that automatically downloads hotlinked images and stores them in the uploads folder so they don't break?

There is a plugin called "Auto Save Remote Image" or something like that. Just search for "hotlink" in the plugin directory. It pulls the image from the URL and attaches it to the post when you publish.
