How hard is the next Hun?

For those of you who have been doing this for a while, how hard was it to make the jump from a bunch of small free sites and blogs to actually running a bigger network or a paysite? I feel like I've hit a ceiling with my current setup. I'm making decent side money, but I want to go bigger. Is it just about having more capital, or does the game completely change?

The game changes completely. With small sites, it's just about SEO and volume. When you go bigger, it becomes a business. You have to deal with hosting costs, legal stuff, managing content, and actually paying attention to your conversion ratios. It's not just throwing up more galleries anymore.

And don't forget about the time commitment. A network doesn't run itself. If you are serious about scaling, you either need to quit your day job or hire someone to help manage the day-to-day stuff. It's a big step, but if you have the drive, it's worth it.
