Organic traffic

Anyone here build blogs and get traffic entirely organic from search engines? Is this doable, i'm guessing it takes a lot longer but i'm also thinking the traffic would be of a higher quality as it's not coming from other free sites, directories and so on?

However, i'm of the way of thinking that get as much traffic as you can, even the very worst traffic might bring a signup or two.

Just curious if anyone does use pure SE traffic?
