lol yeah I am surpised that more webmasters are not promoting this tried and tested money maker. Perhaps it's a chicken/egg scenario due to the reasons you outline.

Bear in mind that with Niteflirt, although the customer pays by the minute, the actual billing mechanism is the good 'ole credit card - which is fine, if you want to target the North American market and is certainly better than 900 billing which sucks (eg chargebacks, not work with cell phones)

Outside the US, premium numbers work well in several markets like UK & Australia. Here, the money is collected by the subscriber's phone company who keep a % and pass the balance on to the "Information Provider"(=phonesex operator) - so no credit card needed.

Phonesex is a novelty in many markets which is why I am currently recording erotic stories in multiple languages ;-)
