hiding affiliate links

ok, I know this has been brought up before but I'm coming at it from a different angle.

After doing some research on the good 'ol latex fetish scene, and this can apply to any niche that also has a 'scene' associated with it I've noticed a trend...

first, you have your straight up porn sites. These sites make no attempt to pretend they are a part of 'the scene' and are simply providing porn for whoever wants it. No point is discussing these types of sites any further.

second, there are the more 'scene' type sites that make an attempt to appear they are run by people in that scene but in reality are nothing more than porn sites with an extra layer of BS.

what does this have to do with hiding affiliate links?

well, on the 'scene' related sites the webmasters (as far as I can tell) are attempting to be authorities and provide honest content to their viewers...

...at least that is what they want them to think.

Generally the content is more about who the photographer was or some other bit of useless trivia instead of the juvenile fantasies that are found on typical porn sites but in reality doesn't have much depth too it.

there is a point to all of this, really.

Ok, now we get down to the content. These sites have the same content I have and it all links to the same tours. The difference is a lot of these sites are hiding affiliate links.

Do you think they are doing this to fool viewers into believing that they are not porn sites and are only being helpful webmasters pointing viewers to the latest in fetish photography when in reality they are only out to make a buck like the rest of us.

and more importantly, and point in doing this?
