Most likely a dozen blogmasters would give a dozen different answers to that question. I will answer it in the way I define the terms and use them (which works for me but may not work for anyone else).
What I call my "sales" blogs are blogs which are designed mainly to drive traffic directly to a deep tour or join page of a specific sponsor. The post sometimes contain gallery links (if I have stuff from 3 or more of the sponsors paysites on it) but usually all posts and side bars are 95% or more to the tour or join pages. Traffic leaks on these blogs are kept to a severe minimum. Since my selling blogs are three levels deep in my filtering process I have the surfer looking at what they want to see and everything is geared toward passing the surfer off to the sponsor. My "traffic" blogs are used to push traffic to the selling blogs. Actually I use two tiers of traffic blogs. The first is "general" (designed to push to a niche blog) and the second is "niche" (designed to push to a selling blog). These are designed to filter the traffic into specific niches so that the chance of a sale is greater. My "index" blogs, or "bloglets" as I call them are usually build for the purpose of providing backlinks to my "traffic" blogs for SERP purposes. The are almost always rss fed and can be either very general or specific in nature. As I mentioed---11 other blogmasters would probably define the terms 11 other ways and, reall, all would be right in some way. ![]() __________________
